Molly Moreland D.D.S.

Dr. Molly Moreland received her D.D.S. from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry in 1991. She opened her Iowa City practice right after graduation and moved into her current facility in 1997.

She was awarded Fellowship in The Academy of General Dentistry in 2002 and has studied extensively at the Dawson Center for Advanced Dentistry in St. Petersburg, Florida. She was honored as one of the "Best Dentists in America", following an extensive peer-review survey of many of the top dentists in the U.S. in 2005.

Dr. Moreland maintains membership in: The American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry.

Molly has served the Iowa City community as a member of the Johnson County and Iowa State Cancer Society Boards, The Alumni Board of the University of Iowa as well as The Board in Control of Athletics. She was instrumental in helping start the Iowa City Free Dental Clinic and has volunteered her time to the free mouthguard program sponsored by the Johnson County Dental Society.

When not in the office, Dr. Molly enjoys running marathons, working out and following Iowa Hawkeye athletics. She and husband, Jim, have two daughters at home.


Stephen T. Bender, DDS, MAGD

Stephen T. Bender, DDS, is a 1974 graduate of the University of Iowa College of Dentistry. He returned to his hometown of Iowa City in 2001 after practicing dentistry in Bloomfield, Iowa for 26 years.

As a health professional, Dr. Bender believes he owes it to himself and his patients to be a continuous student in order to provide the highest quality care and stay on the "cutting edge" of new technology. To this end, he maintains membership in:

American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine

He was awarded Fellowship in the Academy of General Dentistry in 1985 for his continuing education commitment, and received the prestigious Mastership award from this same group in 1995. In 2005, he was honored as one of the "Best Dentists in America", following an exhaustive peer-review survey in which thousands of the top dentists in the U.S. confidentially evaluated their professional peers. Pankey Institute as well as The Continuum in Advanced Cosmetic Dentistry at the University of Missouri-Kansas City. Dr. Bender has been involved in treating patients with Sleep Disorders since 1996 and has studied with many of the wellknown experts in this field. In 2008 he was honored by the Academy of General Dentistry with the Lifelong Learning and Service Recognition Award, acknowledging his commitment to humanitarian service and continuing education in dentistry. He spent 7 years as an Adjunct Faculty member of the Department of Operative Dentistry at the University of Iowa College of Dentistry.

Dr. Bender is dedicated to using his dental skills to benefit those in need. He spent three weeks in 1995 as a volunteer providing dental care to the villagers of Tipling in the Himalayan Mountains of Nepal. In 1996 he spent a week on the Amazon River of Brazil providing oral surgery services to villages along the river. He has been making yearly trips to serve the remote jungle peoples in the Central American country of Belize since 1996.

When not in the office, Dr. Bender enjoys running, fishing, canoeing, woodworking and continues to be frustrated by the game of golf. He has been married to his high school sweetheart, Sue, for 38 years and they have two grown children and two "grand-dogs".
