The DIAGNODENT is a new tool that helps us find decay on the chewing surfaces of back teeth when it is just beginning and would be missed by our previous detection methods. This small, portable laser device projects a completely safe beam of low power laser energy into the tooth. The instrument reads the amount of energy that bounces back to provide both an audible and digital readout of any decay present.
